Taste of Italy with Chef Daniela Craciun starts at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Hand & Harvest Market on the Mercato of Naples. The free event introduces participants to the world of authentic Italian flavors as Chef Daniela shares the secrets behind creating three mouth-watering Italian sauces for her pasta dishes:

Béchamel Sauce, the versatile base for other delightful sauces; Traditional Tomato Sauce, classic and oh-so-delicious; and Norma Sauce, a Sicilian specialty that may transport you to the Mediterranean.

Chef Daniela’s colourful pasta creations feature the whole lot from Moringa-infused goodness to vibrant beetroot, carrots, cacao, purple potatoes, lavender, blue spirulina, mushroom and black squid. The 11 different dry pasta varieties are made with non-GMO flour, organic vegetables and eggs from her completely satisfied, free-range chickens.

She also serves a mushroom ravioli and crafts Moringa ravioli full of squash and sweet potatoes, freshly picked from her very own garden.

Chef Asif Syed was recently invited to create an exclusive menu for an Eid- Al-Adha event hosted by Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Douglas Emhoff, in collaboration with the El-Hibri Foundation. The vice chairman hosted a reception for guests in celebration of this Muslum holiday at her home in Washington, D.C. Eid-Al-Adha, also generally known as the “Feast of the Sacrifice,” is one of the vital events within the Islamic calendar.

The chef, owner of 21 Spices by Chef Asif in Naples, created food for dignitaries and Muslim community leaders.

“I’m very grateful that the vice chairman, her husband, and the El-Hibri Foundation gave me the chance to not only take part in this event but additionally be a culinary ambassador for Hyderabadi cuisine. It’s my biggest pleasure to spotlight our culinary heritage and connect people through the love of food,” said Chef Asif.
