RNC Schedules Third Presidential Debate in Miami, Brushing off Trump’s Opposition

Donald Trump’s demand that presidential debates be canceled was rebuffed Monday when the Republican National Committee said it’s going to hold a Miami debate next month with NBC News and the Republican Jewish Coalition.

A press release Monday by the RNC said the following encounter amongst White House hopefuls will happen on November 8 on the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Miami. The controversy may even be carried by Salem Radio Network and Rumble, which can handle livestream and online content.

“I’m desperate to announce that the RNC has chosen NBC News, Salem Radio Network, the Republican Jewish Coalition, and Rumble as our partners for the third Republican primary debate in Miami. The partners for our third debate will offer our candidates a superb opportunity to satisfy the moment and contrast their plans and vision with the failures of the Biden White House,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in an announcement.

Following last month’s debate in California, Trump’s campaign issued an announcement saying “these primary debates are a waste of time” and called on party officials to stop focusing “on this distraction” and “unite” around Trump because the party’s candidate.

Last week, in a speech to Club 47 USA in West Palm Beach, Trump ridiculed the debates, saying they suffered from low public interest and rankings.

The Republican National Committee said Monday it will hold its third presidential debate in Miami on Nov. 8.

Nonetheless, the RNC has chosen to maneuver forward with its third debate.

“NBC News has an extended history of fostering conversations with the leaders that seek to shape domestic politics and foreign policy. For us, there is no such thing as a higher responsibility. We look ahead to continuing our leading reporting on the 2024 presidential race and spotlighting the problems that matter most to voters as they head to the polls,” said Rebecca Blumenstein, president of NBC News Editorial, in an announcement.
