Honors Given to Luminary Hotel in Fort Myers for Post-Hurricane Ian Efforts

Within the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, the Luminary Hotel in Fort Myers lived as much as its name ― and its brand.

The hotel and its employees went above and beyond in serving the community around them.

The hassle didn’t go unnoticed.

The hotel won the Alice S. Marriott Award for Community Service this 12 months.

The worldwide award, named after Marriott International’s co-founder, recognizes a property and its associates for “excellence in contributing to a more compassionate and hopeful world.”

The distinction goes to those that best exemplify Alice’s philosophy that “by generously giving of our time, energy and resources, we enrich the lives of others.”

Marriott International has greater than 8,200 properties worldwide, so the popularity is a rare honor.

A real test by Hurricane Ian

Inside three years of its opening, Ian tested the hotel’s commitment to the community, following the hurricane’s devastating blow.
