Ted Blankenship, Naples City Councilman, Announces Mayoral Campaign for 2024

Ted Blankenship is running for mayor of Naples with hopes of putting town “back on course”. He was inspired to run for mayor after Hurricane Ian hit in September last 12 months, and he felt that the present council members weren’t aware of the needs and concerns of the residents. He believes that town must have tightened its belt to avoid a tax increase, especially considering the financial hardships faced by many residents as a consequence of the hurricane. If elected, his priorities as mayor can be to finish over-development, increase funding for the police, cut wasteful spending, protect waterways, and defend home rule. Blankenship held his first campaign event at Baker Park on October 23, which drew a positive and inspiring response from supporters. He believes that his leadership and financial experience make him qualified to make the council operate more efficiently and effectively. Blankenship is a firm believer in faith, family, and freedom and would depend on the word of God, the Structure, and the Bill of Rights to guide his values as mayor. He has been a resident of Naples for nearly 13 years and has no plans of leaving, as he loves town and needs to guard its charm.
