6 Must-Visit Restaurants Before the Season Begins

Southwest Florida’s dining scene is on the clock. In only a number of short weeks, season might be upon us and all of the restaurants we have been walking as much as for the last five months with no reservation or a wait might be packed. Now’s the time to go to old favorites or discover those recent restaurants you have been intending to try before the crowds descend. We have taken the chance to encourage or coax or nudge you together with a number of suggestions. Consider it as your last call until April.

Island Gypsy
Amongst our top two musts when out-of-towners visit, it boasts terrific food and a waterfront location. Reservations type of can be found via Resy but it surely’s hard to seek out any time available after 5 p.m. from Thanksgiving week through April. Don’t let it stop you from adding your name to the list upon arrival — even when there’s greater than 50 milling about ahead of you. Tables turn fairly quickly.
Don’t miss out on onion rings, a worthy upcharge, or the legendary carrot cake that weighs as much as a newborn baby. My usual order: a lobster Reuben however the cheeseburger and grouper sandwich are pretty great too. Isles of Capri is the county’s official ground zero for mosquitos: don repellant before heading out. Grab a tropical cocktail and chill whilst you wait. Jane’s Cafe
From stylish locals who brunch to families visiting Naples, the weekend line is manageable straight away. When season hits, I’ve waited 45 minutes on weekends. Jane’s is one among the primary restaurants I visited before officially moving to Naples, suggested by a friend from Latest York City. Forty or so visits later, I still like it. Most recently while waiting, like Elaine on Seinfeld on the Chinese restaurant, I used to be tempted to lift a considerable strawberry-topped pancake from a toddler’s plate. But I refrained, holding out for my usual order of scrambled eggs with salmon and the day’s fresh-fruit lemonade selection. (1209 Third St. S., Naples; 239-261-2253; janesgardencafe.com)

Namba
It’s no secret Namba is town’s best sushi. However the jewel-box-sized restaurant can seat 35. When Naples’ population doubles during season, do the maths; your odds of scoring a table now are a lot higher. (8847 Tamiami Trail N.; 239-592-4992; nambanaples.com)

Seed to Table
Packed since day one in late 2019, flash forward to 2023 when Mike Ellis, the manager chef who led Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen when it won its Michelin star, joined the team as the highest toque leading the expansive eatery. Carnivores will appreciate the steak color chart: after choosing your beef on the butcher’s stall, you point to the colour you wish it cooked to. Every restaurant must have that genius chart. The Snook Inn
Even before it was shut for greater than a 12 months after planned refurbishments AND then Hurricane Ian’s damage, the road any time of 12 months is bananas at dinner. It’s less chaotic at lunch and the water views are only as dazzling. I’m already working on my parking game plan for Dec. 16, the night of Marco’s boat parade; there is no higher place to look at. (1215 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island; 239-394-3313; snookinn.com)

Stan’s Idle Hour
There’s crowded, and there is Woodstock crowded on Sundays at Stan’s, an excellent casual spot where as a substitute of tripping on LSD, the popular mind-bender is Long Island Iced Tea. My fanciest friends who’ve entertained royalty and American presidents of their homes like it. Me? Not a lot after feeling claustrophobic during my one-and-done visit. Aptly described by a TripAdvisor contributor as spring break for AARP, everyone should go once to see what the fuss is about. (221 Harbor Place N., Goodland; 239-394-3041; stansidlehourgoodland.com)
