Who is atop The News-Press/Naples Daily News Football rankings heading into Week 10?

Week 9 in the highschool football landscape across Southwest Florida is within the books. The News-Press and Naples Each day News will rank the Top 10 football teams in Collier and Lee counties and LaBelle each week. The ability rankings are based on record, strength of schedule, and head-to-head matchups for the realm’s 30-plus schools.

Listed here are the Top 10 teams in The News-Press/Naples Each day News Football Rankings heading into Week 10.

1. Bishop Verot (8-1)
Last week: 1
Evaluation: The Vikings proceed to make an announcement after a 50-14 dismantling of Cardinal Mooney. Verot has scored over 50 points 4 times already this season. Next up, they may face Estero for the Class 2S-District 16 championship.

2. First Baptist (6-2)
Last week: 2
Evaluation: The Lions defeated Lemon Bay 44-13 on the road. Winston Watkins is already the team leader in receiving yards. They’re favorites within the Class 1S-District 8 championship against CSN this Friday.

3. Golden Gate (6-2)
Last week: 3
Evaluation: The Titans won 49-7 over Bonita Springs in a district contest. They’ve top-of-the-line defenses locally and can face Lely in a rivalry contest.

4. Naples (7-2)
Last week: 4
Evaluation: The Golden Eagles suffered a troublesome loss to nationally ranked American Heritage before fighting back. They are going to play Bonita Springs before securing home-field advantage within the playoffs.

5. Dunbar (6-2)
Last week: 5
Evaluation: The Tigers won 35-7 against East Lee County and have established a ground game with Chris Singleton. They are going to face South Fort Myers for the district title.

6. Fort Myers (6-2)
Last week: 6
Evaluation: The Greenies won an offensive shootout, 51-48, against Tampa Catholic. They are going to face Cypress Lake this week.

7. Barron Collier (6-2)
Last week: 7
Evaluation: The Cougars rebounded with a win over Lely after a loss to Golden Gate. They are going to face St. Brendan and rival Gulf Coast.

8. Gulf Coast (5-2)
Last week: 10
Evaluation: The Sharks move up two spots despite not playing. They are going to face Immokalee for the district title.

9. Estero (7-1)
Last week: NR
Evaluation: Estero grabbed an enormous win on the road against Mariner, winning 22-14. They are going to face Bishop Verot for the district title.

10. Community School (8-0)
Last week: 9
Evaluation: The Seahawks remain undefeated but drop within the rankings. They are going to face First Baptist in a troublesome road game.

First Five Out: Mariner (7-1), South Fort Myers (5-3), Immokalee (4-4), Evangelical Christian (5-3), Lely (4-4)
